What it’s like around here

LA is home to some of the greatest city hikes in the country, hands down. Griffith, Malibu, Verdugo, San Gabriel's....it is pretty much endless. Best part is being able to hike right in my own back yard.

Griffith Park

Griffith Park https://www.laparks.org/griffithpark is one of the best family hikes. Great scenery, close to home...the trouble is...its very vertical. Be prepared to carry your kid up and down some hills. I would recommend a backpack style child carrier.

top tips for family fun outdoors

Do it early in the day. Its not easy to get everyone out of bed and onto the trail but if you can do it, it really is the best time to hike. Plus added feature of exhausting your kid for a mid day nap.
